Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carr clinches with his opponent.
Sanchez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sanchez lands a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carr is keeping the position for now. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Paulo Sanchez. Carr shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Carr scores with a kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sanchez is trying to keep Carr in close.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carr moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Carr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sanchez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carr somewhat. Carr shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls well. He's pushed Carr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Carr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carr goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carr is defended easily by Sanchez. That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carr. A kick lands to the mid section there for Carr. Carr shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sanchez has Carr up against the cage in a clinch.

Sanchez dives in and grabs Carr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carr pushes down on Sanchez's head and hops out. Sanchez gets tackled into the cage by Carr. Carr maintains the clinch. Carr can't break the clinch.

We've been informed that Sanchez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Paulo Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanchez but Sanchez pushes him off and we're back to square one. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sanchez sprawls well. Sanchez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carr gets slowly back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Carr as Sanchez shoots in. Carr is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sanchez pinned against the cage. Sanchez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sanchez wants to slow Carr down by chopping away at his legs.

Sanchez prevents Carr from breaking the clinch. Carr wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carr breaks from the clinch.
Sanchez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sanchez wants it to stay on the feet. Paulo Sanchez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! William Carr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. William Carr is winning the standup battle so far. Carr slips under a jab from Sanchez.
And that's the end of the fight! William Carr showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
