Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Duarte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Hennings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duarte comes into the arena with Shabba Ranks (Shabba Remix) blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Duarte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Hennings! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hennings swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Duarte counters by clinching up. Hennings's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hennings tries to clinch but Duarte moves out of range. Duarte shoots for a takedown but Hennings saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Duarte fails with the takedown and Hennings counters with a nice double leg into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Duarte is pressing down on Hennings's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Duarte is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hennings's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hennings really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duarte. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hennings tries to free his leg and advance position but Duarte is retaining full guard. Duarte seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hennings is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hennings wants to control from the top but Duarte keeps moving. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hennings working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Shane Hennings hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hennings forces Duarte back against the cage and clinches. Duarte breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hennings throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Duarte was covering up waiting for the punch and Hennings finishes the takedown easily into guard. Duarte being controlled here, momentarily. Hennings must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duarte is trying to control the position but Hennings postures up. Hennings slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Duarte looking for a sweep. Not yet Duarte, not yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Shane Hennings. Hennings gets a takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Duarte wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hennings tries to pass to full mount but Duarte defends it. Hennings perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hennings is stalling here. Duarte is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hennings seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Duarte has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hennings can do anything to dispel that myth. Hennings wants to get back to his feet but Duarte is dominant here and he's now got Hennings's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hennings tries to escape but Duarte has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Hennings is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A lull in the action here.

Shane Hennings dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Duarte gets a double leg takedown into Hennings's guard. Hennings is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Duarte won't allow Hennings to get back to his feet. Duarte sitting in guard here, content to control. Hennings utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hennings is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hennings lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Duarte! Hennings jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Duarte is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Duarte and Hennings has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Duarte is looking for a sweep. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Duarte is not content to let Hennings control the position. Shane Hennings has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Duarte fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hennings dives in and scores a takedown into Duarte's guard. Hennings wants to control from the top but Duarte keeps moving. Hennings got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duarte has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hennings has managed to get both his arms back between Duarte's legs - danger averted. Duarte escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hennings gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hennings is in close to Duarte's body, working some short punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Hennings showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hennings content just to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hennings fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hennings controlling the position easily from mount. Hennings lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hennings lands a heavy elbow. Hennings wants to control the pace but Duarte is squirming around nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Duarte is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duarte working to try and regain half guard.
Hennings controlling from the full mount. Shane Hennings has got the better of the ground game so far. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Duarte is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duarte tries to hold on but Hennings pushes him away. Hennings working Duarte over with strikes here. Duarte is bucking up trying to escape but Hennings cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Hennings controlling from the full mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Hennings comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hennings has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
