Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Joe Meeker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doc Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Joe Meeker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doc Patterson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meeker moves into the clinch. Patterson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Meeker pulls him back up using the underhooks. Meeker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Meeker defending well as Patterson loads up on a big left hand. Patterson thows a body shot but no joy. Patterson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Meeker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Patterson. Meeker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Meeker lands a nice shot to the body.
Patterson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Meeker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Patterson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Patterson misses with a body shot.
Meeker doesn't manage to clinch there - Patterson circles away.
Patterson throws a combination that misses and Meeker counters with a one-two to the body. Nice defenses there by Meeker. Meeker dodges the punch combination from Patterson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson tries to move into range but Meeker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Meeker looks to score with a jab to the body but Patterson is just out of range. Patterson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meeker manages to avoid it. Patterson scores with a body shot.
Meeker throws out a loose jab but Patterson uses good head movement to avoid it. Patterson throws a right hand that Meeker ducks under and follows up with a left that Meeker also avoids with ease. Patterson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Patterson there as he acknowledges the shot. Meeker misses with a double jab
so Patterson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patterson passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Patterson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meeker is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Meeker is breathing heavily. Patterson advances nicely into full mount. Patterson looking to secure an arm triangle but Meeker defends it well. Patterson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Meeker has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Meeker slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Patterson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Patterson uses his free foot to push down on Meeker's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Meeker.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Patterson misses with a head shot. Patterson wants to finish this one by submission but Meeker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Patterson. Meeker throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Meeker is squirming around, avoiding Patterson's attempts to control the action. Patterson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Patterson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Patterson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Meeker can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Patterson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Meeker tries to lock up and control but Patterson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Patterson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Doc Patterson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Patterson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Meeker throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Patterson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Patterson misses with a body shot.
Meeker tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Patterson with that takedown attempt. Meeker takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Meeker is rocked! Meeker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Patterson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Meeker misses with a double jab
and Patterson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Oh Meeker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Patterson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Meeker is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
