Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shogun Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Bannion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by ARMIN VAN BUUREN - SAIL. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shogun Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Bannion! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bannion tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range. Bannion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bannion throws a head kick that misses. Bannion tries a head kick but it misses.
Bannion misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bannion sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bannion is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him
Bannion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bannion is defending against the submission attempts here by Silva.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bannion pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.
Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silva in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bannion is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold. Silva is keen to just control but Bannion is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva tries to pass to full mount but Bannion defends it. Bannion is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bannion is defending against the submission attempts here by Silva.
Silva stands up from half guard. Rex Bannion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva is breathing heavily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva shoots in but no luck this time. Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Bannion moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shogun Silva dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A head kick misses from Bannion. Bannion throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bannion throws a head kick that misses and Silva counters with a head kick. That will keep Bannion thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt. Silva shoots in for a double leg but Bannion sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bannion throws a head kick that misses. Bannion tries to clinch so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Silva advances position into side control! Bannion is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control. Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bannion is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bannion knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bannion pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shogun Silva dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Bannion closes the distance but Silva moves to the side and Silva counters with a nice leg kick. Bannion feints and then cracks Silva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silva down. Bannion throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Bannion throws a head kick that misses. Bannion dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Silva. That did some damage! Silva has closed the distance and engaged Bannion in a clinch.
Bannion lands a knee to the head.
Bannion throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Silva blocks it with crossed arms. Bannion throws a knee to the head but misses.
Bannion misses with a knee strike.
Silva on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bannion is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Bannion tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bannion gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Silva drags the fight down to the ground.
Bannion wants to stand but Silva has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bannion rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Bannion is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
