Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Vandalay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko Sirki� (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sirki�'s choice of entrance music: Thergothon - Elemental. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Vandalay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Niko Sirki�!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirki� moves away from the strike by Vandalay.
Sirki� takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Vandalay misses with the body kick

and Sirki� counters with a single leg into guard. Vandalay didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Vandalay trying to keep a closed guard but Sirki� is proving a slippery customer.
Sirki� lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vandalay has Sirki� pulled in close to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Art Vandalay has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Sirki� looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vandalay with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sirki� is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vandalay defends it well.
Sirki� wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vandalay keeps working.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sirki� lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Vandalay throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Vandalay swings wildly with an uppercut but Sirki� uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sirki� is trying to push Vandalay away but Vandalay has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Vandalay lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sirki� backwards.

Vandalay connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sirki�. Sirki� circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sirki� throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Sirki� sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vandalay is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Vandalay is trying to get back to half guard.

Sirki� is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vandalay has escaped the position, nice work there.

Sirki� trying to control the position but Vandalay is working away.

Sirki� throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Vandalay to regain full guard.

Sirki� throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vandalay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sirki� is staying active underneath Vandalay, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
