PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sho Hayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeya Sanada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanada has chosen zetsubou billy by maximum the hormone as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sho Hayashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeya Sanada!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayashi moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sanada throws a right and a left that Hayashi avoids nicely.
Sanada scores with a jab to the body.
Hayashi shoots in and drives through. Sanada sprawls well.
Hayashi closes the distance and clinches up with Sanada, looking for a takedown. Hayashi pushes Sanada against the ropes but Sanada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hayashi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sanada tries to avoid it but Hayashi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sanada to the ground. Sanada escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sho Hayashi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanada lands a body shot.
Sanada misses with a low kick.
Takeya Sanada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanada looks to land a combination but Hayashi avoids it well.
Sanada throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hayashi is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hayashi rushes Sanada and presses him up against the ropes.
Hayashi has been working on his balance at Tōshi, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Sanada.
A frustrated look appears on Sanada's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hayashi has Sanada pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Sanada manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The referee calls for Sanada to work.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hayashi working hard to break the clinch.
Hayashi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sanada gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sanada breaks from the clinch.

Oooooh!!! Sanada has knocked Hayashi down with a huge combo! Sanada steps away and waves a wobbly Hayashi back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Sho Hayashi has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hayashi gets cracked there but stands up to it.
and Sanada counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hayashi! He's just covering up as Sanada starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takeya Sanada!
During a confident post fight interview, Takeya Sanada thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
