Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gennero Ed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ill Boogie!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boogie connects with a nice looking jab.
Boogie lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ed at a distance.
Boogie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ed tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boogie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Boogie connects with a body shot that sends Ed's belly button to the back.
Boogie fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ed on the side of the head.
Ed gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Ed content to slow the pace in the clinch.
A short right from Ed.
A shot in the inside from Ed.
Ed softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A short uppercut from Ed.
Ed lands with a right to the head.
Ed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Ed has Boogie pressed against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ed.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ed controlling the action here for a moment.
Ed lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Boogie wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ed lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Boogie backwards.
Boogie is rocked!
Ed creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Boogie with a big uppercut! Boogie tries to clinch up but Ed pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Boogie to the mat! Boogie covers up and Ed unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gennero Ed!
An out of breath Gennero Ed thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
