Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grigoriy Grigoriev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brad Simpson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simpson rushes Grigoriev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Simpson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Simpson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Simpson is trying to control. Grigoriev wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Simpson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Grigoriev haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Grigoriev won't allow Simpson to pass to mount.

Simpson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grigoriev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Simpson has managed to get both his arms back between Grigoriev's legs - danger averted.
Simpson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grigoriev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Simpson slips nicely into half guard.
Grigoriev wants to control but Simpson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Simpson is keen to just control but Grigoriev is a slippery customer.

Grigoriev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Simpson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Simpson's back!

Simpson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grigoriev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Simpson is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Grigoriev off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Grigoriev working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Simpson is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Grigoriev has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Simpson taps out!
