The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Sutherland. Sutherland gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith wants to clinch.
Smith pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sutherland is out of range and Smith settles back down.
Smith drops his hands momentarily and Sutherland takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Smith throws a series of punches but Sutherland moves out of range.
Sutherland throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Smith throws out a loose jab but Sutherland uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith moves into the clinch successfully.
Sutherland keeps control of Smith as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sutherland escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith looks to land a combination but Sutherland avoids it well.
Sutherland darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.
Smith lands with a light punch inside.
Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
Smith blocks a head kick by Sutherland.
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sutherland scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Sutherland tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith throws a push kick but Sutherland slaps the foot to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith misses with a double jab
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sutherland misses with a wild combination.
Smith looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Smith on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sutherland.

and Sutherland counters with a straight right hand.
Smith is rocked!
Smith looks gassed!
Sutherland rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Smith misses with a hook. Sutherland ducked under it nicely.
Sutherland drops Smith with a left right combo! Sutherland follows him down to the ground into side control.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Sutherland finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sutherland in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Smith looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Sutherland turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
