Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiro Hiralal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Divola! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Divola. Divola misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hiralal gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Divola is trying to control the action in half guard but Hiralal is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hiralal tries to roll over but Divola keeps him under control. Divola wants to pass to mount but Hiralal is defending the position. Hiralal looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Divola seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hiralal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Divola tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hiralal controls his leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hiralal shoots and misses and Divola counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hiralal wants to improve his position but Divola is controlling well.
Divola wants to stand but Hiralal has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Hiralal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hiralal looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hiralal tries to roll over but Divola keeps him under control. Hiralal is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Divola pulls his head out easily. Divola wants to get back to his feet.
Hiralal won't allow Divola to pass to mount.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hiralal misses with a takedown letting Divola counter with a right hand. Hiralal is breathing heavily. Divola shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Divola is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hiralal looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hiralal looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hiralal throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Divola passes into half guard. Hiralal looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hiralal manages to get to full guard.
Hiralal manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hiralal swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
