PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diggler has chosen acdc back in black as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Diggler!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxer paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Boxer swings for the body but Diggler moves out of range.
Diggler takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Diggler swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've been informed that Diggler has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Boxer swats away the attempt to clinch by Diggler.
Diggler misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boxer throws a body punch but Diggler moves out of range.
Diggler takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mark Boxer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boxer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Diggler. That did some damage!
Boxer looks to score with a jab to the body but Diggler is just out of range.
Boxer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Diggler was well out of range. Poor timing from Boxer.
Boxer scores with a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Boxer.
Boxer misses with a series of wild punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boxer lands with a shot to the body.

Boxer attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Diggler misses with a low kick as Boxer jumps back.
Boxer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diggler manages to avoid it.
Boxer throws a right hand that Diggler ducks under and follows up with a left that Diggler also avoids with ease.
We've been told by Boxer's head coaches at Brotherhood Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A head kick misses from Diggler.
Diggler tries to bum rush Boxer with a series of wild strikes but Boxer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Diggler throws a sloppy head kick and Boxer moves out of range easily.
Boxer throws a quick inside leg kick.
Boxer throws a body punch but Diggler moves out of range.
Boxer scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Boxer just misses with a punch to the body.
Boxer misses the shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diggler takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Boxer throws a leg kick which misses Diggler's front leg but catches the back leg as Diggler tries to avoid it.
Boxer throws a head kick that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boxer misses with a wild combination.
Boxer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diggler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Diggler rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boxer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diggler. Boxer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boxer lands a nice leg kick that just misses Diggler's sensitive parts.
Boxer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diggler manages to avoid it.
Boxer keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Boxer misses with a double jab.
Nice cross by Boxer.
Diggler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boxer circles away quickly and effectively.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boxer connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Diggler momentarily.
Boxer ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Boxer connects with a solid leg kick.
Boxer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Boxer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sloppy strikes from Boxer. Those never looked like landing.
Boxer throws a body punch but Diggler moves out of range.
Boxer looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Good standup being displayed there by Boxer as he connects with a hook.
Diggler throws a head kick that misses
and Boxer counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Diggler throws a wild hook but Boxer just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Diggler gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Boxer raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Boxer!
Mark Boxer decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
