Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abel Hardin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcel Manuel!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin fails with a takedown attempt.
Hardin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Manuel throws out the jab.
Hardin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Manuel circles away.
Manuel moves in looking to clinch but Hardin pushes him off.
Manuel misses with a wild body shot.
Manuel fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hardin to the ground. Manuel is now in Hardin's guard.
Manuel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Manuel throwing strikes from guard but Hardin blocks nicely.
Manuel postures up in Hardin's guard and throws a big left but Hardin blocks it.
Hardin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Manuel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hardin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Manuel!
Manuel is bucking up trying to escape but Hardin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardin lands with some strikes.
Manuel flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Manuel tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Manuel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Hardin tries to control but Manuel wriggling away.
Hardin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hardin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Hardin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hardin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Manuel is looking to escape.
Manuel really wants to buck Hardin off and get back to his feet.
Manuel is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hardin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Manuel flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Hardin wants to control the pace but Manuel is squirming around nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hardin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Manuel hang on?

Hardin lands a couple of good shots and Manuel has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
