Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Loren Morton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cletus Robber!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robber fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Robber looks for the body kick but Morton saw that one coming.
Cletus Robber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Robber clinches.

Robber successfully pulls guard.
Morton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Morton stands and steps away. Robber gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Robber takes the fight into the clinch.
Morton is trying to break the clinch but Robber has him pressed against the cage.

Robber breaks the clinch.
Robber avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Robber rushes Morton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Robber wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Morton manages to break the clinch.

Robber gets a clinch.

Morton manages to pull guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morton throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Robber is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Morton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robber can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Morton wants to stand and escape but Robber is having none of it.
Morton keeping moving, preventing Robber from controlling successfully.
Morton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Robber controls the pace.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Robber trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Robber must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Robber wants to control from the top but Morton keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Cletus Robber wasn't active enough on the ground.
Morton tries a head kick but it misses.
Robber throws a sloppy head kick and Morton moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Robber has managed to clinch.
Robber working hard to break the clinch.

Morton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Morton gets a clinch.

Robber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Robber throws a front kick aimed at Morton's knee but Morton avoids it well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Robber circles away from the clinch attempt.
Morton doesn't manage to clinch there - Robber circles away.
Morton's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Robber connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Morton scrambles back to his feet.


It looks like Loren Morton has been cut.

Morton gets caught napping as Robber dives in and scores a takedown. Morton manages to retain guard.
Robber has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Morton is proving hard to escape from.
Morton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Robber wants to control from the top but Morton keeps moving.
Morton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Morton being controlled here, momentarily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Cletus Robber wasn't active enough on the ground.
Robber fails with the takedown.
Morton tries for a takedown but Robber circles away easily
and Robber cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Morton keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Robber wants to slow Morton down by chopping away at his legs.
Robber tries to land a front kick but Morton steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Morton doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Robber drops Morton with a left and a right! Oh, Morton is hurt - Robber dives into side control looking to finish!


Morton is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morton tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Oh Morton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Robber lands a strong strike to the head of Morton. That's dazed him! Robber looking to finish here. Morton is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Robber lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cletus Robber!
