Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Iankov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kris Iankov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Rufus Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kris Iankov!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iankov clinches up against the cage.

Stokes successfully pulls guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Iankov tries to stand but Stokes is controlling from the bottom.
Stokes keeping moving, preventing Iankov from controlling successfully.
Stokes wants to sweep but no luck.
Stokes trying to strike off his back.
Stokes will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Iankov looking to sit in guard and control but Stokes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stokes drops back looking for a leg! Iankov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Iankov manages to kick Stokes off! Stokes jumps back into Iankov's guard.

Iankov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stokes is aware though and is defending well.
Stokes won't allow Iankov to sweep him here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rufus Stokes.

Iankov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stokes napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Stokes is looking for a sweep.
Stokes is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Iankov is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Iankov decides to stand back up.
Iankov throws a nice head kick!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stokes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Iankov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stokes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Stokes in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stokes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Iankov for as long as he can get away with.

Stokes is looking for a kimura here.

Stokes seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stokes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Iankov is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
