Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Herrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ken Masters! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herrera closes the distance and clinches up with Masters, looking for a takedown. Herrera pushes Masters against the cage but Masters circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Masters shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Herrera pinned against the cage. Herrera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Masters shoots and misses and Herrera counters with a single leg into guard. Masters didn't expect that. Masters working a defensive guard here.
Masters is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Herrera slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Herrera prevents Masters from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Herrera is one step ahead there. Herrera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We're going to have a standup here because Miguel Herrera wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Masters keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Masters shoots in but no luck this time. Miguel Herrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Masters. Masters tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Herrera swivels and escapes. Masters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Herrera tries to avoid it but Masters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Herrera to the ground. Herrera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ken Masters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Masters looks winded! Masters has taken the fight to the clinch.
Masters is trying to pull guard but Herrera turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Herrera gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Masters regains guard.
Herrera slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Herrera's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Masters is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Herrera is controlling him. Herrera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We're going to have a standup here because Miguel Herrera wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Herrera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Masters was covering up waiting for the punch and Herrera finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Masters keeping full guard, as Herrera tries to pass. Masters throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Masters wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Herrera is now in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Masters trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Herrera dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Masters shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Masters was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Masters wants to control but Herrera is keeping him busy. Masters swings around for an armbar but Herrera sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Masters's guard. Herrera content to stall in guard here. Masters trying to keep a closed guard but Herrera is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Masters was stalling too much, according to the referee. Masters fails to land the takedown. Masters is breathing heavily. Masters gets the takedown into side control. Herrera is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Herrera is looking to reverse the position. Masters wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Herrera, who protects the arm well. Herrera struggling a bit here. Masters prevents Herrera from escaping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Herrera can't do much from the bottom here. Herrera is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Masters asserts his dominance and retains side control. Masters tries for a kimura but Herrera is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Herrera is trying to control Masters's posture but Masters avoids it. Masters trying to control the position but Herrera is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Masters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Masters closes the distance and pushes Herrera back into the cage. Masters lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Herrera is not content to let Masters control the position. Herrera slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Masters trying to control but Herrera is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masters throwing strikes but missing. Masters trying to control the position from guard on top but Herrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Masters was stalling too much, according to the referee. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Masters is defended easily by Herrera. Herrera with a lazy takedown attempt and Masters counters with a nice double leg into guard. Masters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Herrera is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Herrera is proving hard to escape from. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Masters trying to control the position from guard on top but Herrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Masters was stalling too much, according to the referee. Herrera darts in looking for a takedown but Masters gets double underhooks and turns Herrera into the cage. Masters pulls guard effortlessly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Herrera looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Herrera's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Masters drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Masters throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Herrera blocks it with crossed arms.
And that's the end of the fight! Ken Masters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Masters has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
