The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Didenko shoots in for a takedown but Nixon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Didenko scores with a takedown into Nixon's guard.

Didenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Didenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Didenko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nixon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Didenko on the ground.

Didenko drops back looking for a leg! Nixon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nixon manages to kick Didenko off! Didenko jumps back into Nixon's guard.
Didenko slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Nixon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Didenko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Didenko is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nixon is trying to escape and Didenko transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nixon is forced to tap! Nice work there by Didenko! Very nice indeed!
