Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Jeggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josiah Mudzuri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Jeggins!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Josiah Mudzuri!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mudzuri swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jeggins.
Mudzuri's coach down at Basics -LOD- was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mudzuri's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Mudzuri tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jeggins was well out of range. Poor timing from Mudzuri.
Mudzuri lands a nice shot that snaps Jeggins's head back.
Jeggins dives in and grabs Mudzuri's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mudzuri pushes down on Jeggins's head and hops out.
Jeggins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jeggins doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jeggins takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mudzuri ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jeggins tries for a takedown but Mudzuri circles away easily
and Mudzuri makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Jeggins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mudzuri changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jeggins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jeggins showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Jeggins wants to finish this one by submission but Mudzuri is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jeggins.

Jeggins moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mudzuri has worked his arm free - good work by Mudzuri!

Jeggins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mudzuri is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jeggins wants to take Mudzuri's back here but Mudzuri is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Mudzuri tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jeggins is looking to work his way around to Mudzuri's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Jeggins trying to control but Mudzuri is having none of it.

Jeggins looking to secure an arm triangle but Mudzuri defends it well.
Jeggins thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jeggins jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mudzuri is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mudzuri and Jeggins has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Dick Jeggins will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mudzuri stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mudzuri wants it to stay on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mudzuri shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jeggins eats them both and turns towards Mudzuri to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mudzuri throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mudzuri ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mudzuri scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jeggins moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Jeggins feints and as Mudzuri raises his hands in defense, Jeggins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jeggins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jeggins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mudzuri has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jeggins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jeggins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mudzuri wants to control but Jeggins postures up.

Josiah Mudzuri showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jeggins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mudzuri manages to avoid it.

Jeggins takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mudzuri stalks Jeggins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jeggins's face. Jeggins staggers backwards, shaken.
Jeggins doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mudzuri connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jeggins momentarily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jeggins is defended easily by Mudzuri.
Nice straight punches there by Mudzuri. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mudzuri.
Mudzuri lands with a good body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mudzuri. Jeggins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jeggins throws a lazy right hand but Mudzuri sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Jeggins shoots in for a double leg but Mudzuri sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mudzuri cracks Jeggins with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jeggins walks into a stiff left hand from Mudzuri.
Mudzuri works over Jeggins's head and body with a nice combination.


Jeggins is rocked!

Oh Jeggins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mudzuri lands a nice looking body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mudzuri scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mudzuri throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jeggins on the side of the head.
Jeggins finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Mudzuri's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Jeggins falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josiah Mudzuri!

Josiah Mudzuri gave a mention to Atlantis in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
