Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bjork Lensner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Schultz! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schultz lands with a right hand. Lensner defending well as Schultz loads up on a big left hand. Lensner misses with an uppercut. Lensner cracks Schultz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. A jab from Lensner finds it's way through Schultz's defenses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Schultz scores with a push kick. Good work by Lensner as he checks the leg kick. Lensner shoots in looking for a takedown. Schultz tries to sprawl out of it but Lensner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schultz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Schultz throws a quick inside leg kick. Schultz lands the left hand. Schultz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Schultz closes the distance and clinches. Schultz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lensner has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Schultz obliges.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schultz tries to throw a body punch but Lensner avoids it by throwing Schultz back against the cage. Schultz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lensner.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Schultz lands a knee to the body.
Lensner is breathing heavily. Lensner throws a punch but it's blocked by Schultz. Schultz lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Lensner. Schultz slowing the pace effectively. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lensner misses with a punch on the inside.
A short left from Schultz. Schultz unloads a knee to the mid-section. Schultz softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lensner on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Schultz makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Schultz breaks the clinch.
Lensner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Schultz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lensner throws out the jab. Schultz throws a push kick but Lensner slaps the foot to one side. Schultz scoring well with a low kick there.
A jab from Schultz does it's job there. A head kick by Schultz - that's a beauty! Lensner is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Schultz can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). King Schultz! During a confident post fight interview, King Schultz thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
