Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Kilgore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Travis Green! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green with a poor takedown and Kilgore counters with a stiff right hand. Green gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Kilgore counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Green looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kilgore landing some decent shots from guard. Kilgore is in close to Green's body, working some short punches and elbows. Green had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kilgore defends it easily. Kilgore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kilgore is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kilgore throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Green works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kilgore trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kilgore defends it easily. Green has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kilgore should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Green has tightened it up now! Kilgore should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
