Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kon Sai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Mitchel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sai comes to the cage accompanied by Made In Thailand. Mitchel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Game has Changed- Daft Punk kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kon Sai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitch Mitchel! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sai is defended easily by Mitchel. Sai fails to land the takedown. Sai has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kon Sai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mitchel circles away. Mitchel slaps away a takedown attempt from Sai, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nice jab there from Mitchel. Mitchel lands a jab to Sai's midsection. Mitchel scores with a nice head shot. Sai fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sai scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sai is looking to take a break and control but Mitchel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mitchel wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sai is thwarting Mitchel's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sai looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sai is working for a kimura but Mitchel is defending it quite comfortably.
Mitchel preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Sai is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mitchel defends it well. Mitchel trying to control but Sai postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sai trying to control from half guard but Mitchel is working away. Sai is really struggling to control Mitchel but he's trying to hold on to the position. The fighters are battling for position here. Mitchel manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sai drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mitchel dives on top into guard. Sai is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mitchel is aware though and is defending well. Sai has his foot on Mitchel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mitchel works his way back into a safe position though. Mitchel controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sai has a closed guard, preventing Mitchel from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitchel advances to half guard. Sai manages to get to full guard.
Mitchel is looking to stand up but Sai won't let him. Mitchel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Mitchel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sai, up you get! Mitchel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sai was well out of range. Poor timing from Mitchel. Nice uppercut lands for Mitchel. That snapped Sai's head back.
Mitch Mitchel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sai. Mitchel lands a high kick!

Mitch Mitchel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sai shoots in but Mitchel avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mitchel throws a head kick that misses and Sai counters with a three punch combo that has Mitchel backing up. Mitchel nods at Sai to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sai closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mitchel's guard. Mitchel has his hands on Sai's head, controlling the position. Let's hope that Mitchel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Sai advances to half guard. Mitchel controlling the position well. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sai wants to take a breather but Mitchel is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mitch Mitchel will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sai shoots in looking for a takedown but Mitchel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sai's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sai scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mitchel is doing well to control the position and prevent Sai from advancing to side control. Sai is looking for a kimura but Mitchel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sai to get the leverage. Mitchel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sai trying to mount his opponent but Mitchel defends it. Sai looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sai is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mitchel sees it coming and defends easily.

Sai is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mitchel has managed to free his arm - good work. Sai prevents Mitchel from standing back up.
Sai is keen to just control but Mitchel is a slippery customer. Sai wants to work for an arm triangle but Mitchel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mitchel wants to control but Sai is keeping busy.
Sai trying to pass the guard but Mitchel defending well. Sai is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mitchel reverses the position - he's now on top in Sai's guard. Kon Sai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sai is trying to control the position but Mitchel postures up. Sai had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mitchel defends it easily. Sai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mitchel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mitchel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Sai here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Mitchel wants to get up but he can't break Sai's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Mitchel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sai has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mitchel doesn't defend quickly enough and Sai has managed to lock this one up! Can Mitchel escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sai on a fantastic submission victory.
