Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Jet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Jet will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Benoit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauricio Jet!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jet looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Benoit is fending him off so far but Jet persists. Nope, Benoit circles away and we're back to standing.
Benoit tries to clinch

and Jet counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Benoit wants to stand up but Jet is controlling him.
Jet throws a big right hand that misses.
Jet stops Benoit from standing up.
Jet is looking to work some ground and pound but Benoit has wrist control.
Jet postures up and lands a big shot to Benoit's brow.

Benoit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jet on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jet accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jet is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jet loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jet controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Benoit wants to stand up but Jet is controlling him.
Benoit utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jet trying to control the position from guard on top but Benoit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Benoit is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jet.
Benoit fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jet is out of range.

and Jet counters with a shoot takedown. Benoit fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benoit wants to get back to his feet but Jet is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jet sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Benoit wants to stand but Jet is controlling the position.
Jet in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Benoit wants to stand up but Jet is controlling him.
Benoit trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Jet is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jet accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jet controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Benoit gets a clinch.

Jet pulls Benoit into guard.
Benoit wants to control from the top but Jet keeps moving.
Jet has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Benoit seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Benoit avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jet keeping moving, preventing Benoit from controlling successfully.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Benoit postures up in Jet's guard and throws a big left but Jet blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jet looking for a sweep. Not yet Jet, not yet.
Jet manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jet circles away from the clinch attempt.
Benoit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Benoit misses with a few strikes there.

Benoit has Jet up against the cage in a clinch.
Jet is trying to pull guard but Benoit has him pressed against the cage.

Benoit's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jet closes this distance looking for a takedown but Benoit circles away.

Benoit has picked Jet up - he's going for a ride! Benoit dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Jet wants to control but Benoit is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Benoit is trying to control the action in half guard but Jet is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Benoit works his foot free and advances to mount.
Jet has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Jet is desperately trying to improve his position but Benoit has a good base and remains in mount.
Jet sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Benoit lands a nice short elbow.
Benoit is stalling here. Jet is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Benoit seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jet has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Frank Benoit will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jet looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Benoit slaps away a takedown attempt from Jet, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Frank Benoit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Jet.
Jet jumps guard but Benoit stands there with Jet around his waist. Jet gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jet shoots in looking for a takedown. Benoit tries to sprawl out of it but Jet keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Benoit manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
