The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Myers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Myers wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jones throws a right hand that Myers ducks under and follows up with a left that Myers also avoids with ease.

Damian Myers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Myers has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jones should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Myers has tightened it up now! Jones should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
