Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Frederick Barbarossa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Black Belt! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barbarossa works Belt's body with a nice hook. Barbarossa looks to throw the jab but Belt is out of range. Barbarossa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Barbarossa swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Barbarossa throws a jab when Belt was well out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Barbarossa managing to block the knees to the body from Belt.
Belt blocks a body shot from Barbarossa. Barbarossa breaks the clinch.
A jab from Barbarossa misses. Barbarossa throws a right hand that Belt ducks under and follows up with a left that Belt also avoids with ease. Frederick Barbarossa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barbarossa thuds his right hand into Belt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice straight punches there by Barbarossa. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Barbarossa. Belt takes a shot right to the bread basket. Barbarossa scores with a three punch combo!
Belt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barbarossa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barbarossa darts in and clinches Belt up against the cage. Barbarossa cracks Belt with a nice body shot. Belt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Barbarossa to keep the fight standing. Belt goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barbarossa prevents it.
Frederick Barbarossa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Belt. Belt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Barbarossa tries to work over Belt's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Belt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Barbarossa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Barbarossa lands a nice shot to the body. Belt jumps guard but Barbarossa turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Barbarossa struggles to land a body shot inside as Belt controls his hands.
Barbarossa lands on the inside with an uppercut. Barbarossa is defending well against a takedown attempt. Barbarossa wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barbarossa gets underhooks to prevent Belt's takedown attempt.
Belt wants a takedown.
Belt tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Barbarossa just stands there and leans against the cage. Belt drops down looking for an ankle pick but Barbarossa pulls his leg out and moves away.
This has been an exciting period of action! Barbarossa lands a head shot. Barbarossa tries to bum rush Belt with a series of wild strikes but Belt uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Barbarossa throws a lazy right hand but Belt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Barbarossa throws a hook but Belt blocks it. Horrible takedown by Belt or perhaps it was just good defense by Barbarossa which made him look bad. Barbarossa looks to land a combination but Belt avoids it well. Barbarossa looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Belt shoots in looking for a takedown but Barbarossa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Belt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barbarossa lands a left and a right that send Belt crashing to the mat, dazed. Barbarossa thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Belt is rocked!
It looks like Black Belt has been cut. Belt looks winded! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barbarossa lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Belt is looking to close the distance but Barbarossa sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Belt crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Belt is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
