The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penncil drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hopkins stops Penncil from passing to mount.

Penncil thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hopkins is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Penncil is looking to take a break and control but Hopkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hopkins wants to control but Penncil postures up.

Penncil trying to control but Hopkins is having none of it.

Penncil is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hopkins can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
