Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nich DiMag! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Damon Johnson! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. DiMag doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Johnson checks a leg kick. Johnson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by DiMag. DiMag obviously looking to wear him down.
Johnson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent DiMag stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. DiMag misses with a combination
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand. DiMag looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. DiMag takes one to the side of the head.
Johnson cracks a nice hook into DiMag's ribs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. DiMag tries to work over Johnson's front leg with a kick but Johnson checks it. Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
DiMag throws a wild combination but nothing lands. DiMag closes the distance and clinches. DiMag with a knee to the head.
DiMag has a couple of punches blocked by Johnson.
DiMag lands a nice knee to the body. DiMag misses with a knee to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. DiMag tries to land knees in the clinch but Johnson avoids the damage to the body. DiMag swings wildly with an uppercut but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it. DiMag looking to stall.
Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. DiMag keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. DiMag controlling the action here for a moment.
Johnson is trying to push DiMag away but DiMag has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! DiMag lands a good knee to the midsection. Johnson won't want to take too many of those. Johnson wants to break free but DiMag has control.
Johnson tries to circle away but DiMag has him pinned against the ropes. Johnson tries to break free but DiMag pushes him back against the ropes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson is trying to break free. DiMag controlling the action here for a moment.
DiMag lands a good knee to the midsection. Johnson won't want to take too many of those. Johnson working hard to break the clinch. Johnson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. DiMag tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch. DiMag has Johnson pushed against the ropes. DiMag connects with a nasty looking knee right to Johnson's face.

Johnson is looking to break free of the clinch but DiMag has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but DiMag won't allow it.
DiMag crunches a lovely knee into Johnson's ribcage. DiMag lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

That's four minutes gone in the round. DiMag tries to stall but Johnson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
DiMag using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Johnson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

DiMag is breathing heavily. Johnson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
DiMag misses with some punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! DiMag utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but DiMag has him pressed against the ropes. Johnson is trying to force a seperation but DiMag has the dominant position. DiMag prevents Johnson from breaking the clinch. Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but DiMag has him pressed against the ropes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Johnson is trying to break the clinch but DiMag is controlling him. Johnson working hard to break the clinch. Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Johnson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. DiMag is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Johnson is keeping busy. Johnson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nich DiMag will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
DiMag tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. DiMag tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. The fight stays on the outside here - DiMag looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A jab lands there for Johnson. Johnson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches DiMag on the side of the head. DiMag misses with a leg kick. DiMag tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it. DiMag tries a low kick but Johnson avoids it. Johnson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Johnson duly obliges.
DiMag is rocked! Johnson drops DiMag with a straight right hand, right on the button! Johnson follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damon Johnson!
