Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daron Buxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Smithson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buxton comes to the cage accompanied by Tech N9ne - He's A Mental Giant. Smithson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Creator of Worlds. Daron Buxton had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buxton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smithson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Buxton is in Smithson's guard.

Smithson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buxton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Buxton drops back looking for a leg! Smithson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smithson manages to kick Buxton off! Buxton jumps back into Smithson's guard.

Smithson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Buxton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smithson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Buxton shoots in for a takedown but Smithson shows good takedown defense.

Buxton leaves Smithson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smithson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buxton's waist but Buxton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smithson off to one side.
