Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Speed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jab from Speed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Speed.
Speed tries to clinch but Mckenzie is having none of it.
Speed tries to close the distance and clinch but Mckenzie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mckenzie misses with a takedown attempt - Speed sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mckenzie slips a straight right by Speed.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Speed manages to pull guard.

Speed working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mckenzie.
Speed looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Speed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mckenzie manages to get himself to full guard.
Speed not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Speed drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Speed jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mckenzie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Speed on the ground.
Speed scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Speed controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Speed wants to pass the guard but Mckenzie is keeping the position.

Mckenzie wants to stand up but Speed is controlling him.
Speed's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Mckenzie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Speed lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Mckenzie wants to stand but Speed is controlling the position.
Speed passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Speed slows the pace down in half guard.

Speed's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Speed has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Speed scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Speed looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Mckenzie tries to reverse the position but Speed maintains control.
Speed scoring with strikes but Mckenzie is staying in there.

Mckenzie is wriggling around trying to escape.
Speed with the ground and pound from mount.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Speed controlling the pace for now.

Speed is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Mckenzie is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Mckenzie flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Speed anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Mckenzie and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Speed slips an arm under Mckenzie chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Speed has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Speed is squeezing on Mckenzie like an anaconda would it's prey. Mckenzie fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Cody Speed!
