Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michal Tarnowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robin Lehner! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tarnowski looks to score with a jab to the body but Lehner is just out of range. Tarnowski misses with a double jab
and Lehner counters with a lovely straight right hand! Tarnowski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tarnowski misses with a low kick.
Lehner connects with a body shot. Tarnowski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tarnowski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Tarnowski throws a strike aimed at the side of Lehner's head but Lehner avoids it well. Lehner struggling a bit here. Tarnowski goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lehner rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tarnowski's guard! Nice work there by Lehner!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarnowski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lehner defends well. Lehner won't allow Tarnowski to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lehner wants to pass the guard but Tarnowski is keeping the position. Tarnowski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lehner stacks Tarnowski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lehner! Tarnowski stops Lehner from passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lehner gets to mount! Tarnowski was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Lehner prevents Tarnowski from getting the reversal. Tarnowski tries to lock up and control but Lehner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lehner prevents Tarnowski from getting the reversal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lehner looking to control and managing it successfully. Lehner avoids the attempt from Tarnowski to control. Tarnowski slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Lehner is trying to control. Tarnowski wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lehner is taking a breather. Tarnowski says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Robin Lehner. Lehner connects with a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lehner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tarnowski's calf. Tarnowski lands with a shot to the body. Tarnowski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Tarnowski keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Michal Tarnowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lehner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Good leg kick by Tarnowski there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nice straight punches there by Tarnowski. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Tarnowski. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lehner works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tarnowski looking to score a takedown here. Lehner is defending well but Tarnowski drives through and ends up in Lehner's guard. Lehner looking for a sweep. Not yet Lehner, not yet. Lehner seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Tarnowski dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tarnowski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lehner throws an ugly left hook that misses
so Tarnowski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tarnowski trying to control but Lehner is working from the bottom. Lehner looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Tarnowski is looking to work some ground and pound but Lehner has wrist control. Lehner keeping moving, preventing Tarnowski from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lehner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Tarnowski wants to pass the guard but Lehner is keeping the position. Tarnowski has gone for a leg lock! Lehner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tarnowski's guard. Tarnowski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lehner defends well. Lehner postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lehner trying to control but Tarnowski is working from the bottom. Tarnowski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lehner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tarnowski working a defensive guard here.
Lehner gets to his feet. Tarnowski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarnowski throws a leg kick which misses Lehner's front leg but catches the back leg as Lehner tries to avoid it. Tarnowski is looking to slow Lehner down with leg kicks. Lehner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tarnowski. Lehner checks a leg kick. Some bone on bone action there as Tarnowski checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Tarnowski lands with a slapping head kick. Tarnowski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lehner avoids it really well and circles away. Tarnowski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lehner. Tarnowski wants to slow Lehner down by chopping away at his legs. A jab from Lehner misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tarnowski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lehner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tarnowski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Tarnowski fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michal Tarnowski. That's going to take a lot out of him. A solid leg kick lands there for Lehner.
Lehner throws a sloppy head kick and Tarnowski moves out of range easily. Tarnowski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tarnowski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lehner parries the strikes from Tarnowski easily there. Tarnowski is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lehner to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lehner looking for a sweep but Tarnowski has passed into full mount! Oh no! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Tarnowski dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Tarnowski looks to score with a jab to the body but Lehner is just out of range. Lehner shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Tarnowski looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Lehner slips a straight right by Tarnowski. Lehner throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tarnowski on the side of the head. A looping hook to the body misses from Tarnowski. Lehner does a little dance to reset his feet. Tarnowski misses with an uppercut
and Lehner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A leg kick checked by Lehner. Lehner takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tarnowski throws a hook to the side of Lehner's head but Lehner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Tarnowski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tarnowski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lehner avoids it really well and circles away. Tarnowski just misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lehner connects with a right hand. Tarnowski shakes it off. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Tarnowski - that will leave a mark!
Lehner throws a hook but Tarnowski blocks it. Robin Lehner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tarnowski checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Tarnowski displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Lehner moves out of range of the body kick from Tarnowski.
Lehner misses with a series of wild punches.
Tarnowski comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lehner throws a right hand that Tarnowski ducks under and follows up with a left that Tarnowski also avoids with ease. Tarnowski throws a leg kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarnowski throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lehner blocks the body kick.
Lehner misses with a looping left. Tarnowski loads up on a big right hand but Lehner slips the punch. Decent striking displayed by Tarnowski there. Lehner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Lehner throws a right and a left that Tarnowski avoids nicely. Tarnowski scores with a kick to the body.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tarnowski throws a predictable looking body shot
and Lehner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A decent looking body kick lands there for Tarnowski. Tarnowski delivers a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarnowski connects with a leg kick. Lehner looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Tarnowski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Lehner trying to control but Tarnowski postures up.
Michal Tarnowski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lehner keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Tarnowski performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tarnowski not landing any meaningful shots this time. Well, if Tarnowski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Michal Tarnowski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Michal Tarnowski just wasn't active enough. Lehner misses with a straight left. Robin Lehner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tarnowski thows a leg kick but Lehner checks it and Lehner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Lehner throws out a loose jab but Tarnowski uses good head movement to avoid it. Tarnowski blocks a head kick by Lehner.
And that's the end of the fight! Michal Tarnowski showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tarnowski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
