Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arturo Atunes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyle Walters!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walters doesn't manage to clinch there - Atunes circles away.
Atunes connects with an inside leg kick.
Walters takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Atunes blocks a low kick nicely.
Walters looks for a takedown but Atunes sprawls well.
Atunes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Atunes blocks the body kick.
Atunes lands a nice looking body shot.
A punch combination from Walters misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Atunes, as that shot connected.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Atunes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Atunes scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Horrible takedown by Walters or perhaps it was just good defense by Atunes which made him look bad.
Atunes gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Atunes dips a shoulder and cracks Walters with a mighty uppercut! Walters falls back against the cage and Atunes unloads with a barrage of strikes! Walters is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Atunes screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Arturo Atunes!
