Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Treehead Woodfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chip Cheliouze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Treehead Woodfist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chip Cheliouze!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodfist tries to clinch up but Cheliouze circles away and keeps his distance.
Woodfist wants to clinch up but Cheliouze keeps it at a distance.
Woodfist lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cheliouze's sensitive parts.

Cheliouze shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Woodfist's guard.
Woodfist wants to stand up but Cheliouze is controlling him.
Woodfist is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Woodfist knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cheliouze on the ground.
Cheliouze wants to control from the top but Woodfist keeps moving.
Woodfist will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Cheliouze drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cheliouze jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cheliouze goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Treehead Woodfist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cheliouze swats away the attempt to clinch by Woodfist.

so Cheliouze counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cheliouze advances to half guard.

Cheliouze is working for a kimura but Woodfist is defending it quite comfortably.
Cheliouze passes to full mount!
Woodfist tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cheliouze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Woodfist is looking to escape.
Woodfist swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Cheliouze with the ground and pound from mount.


It looks like Treehead Woodfist has been cut.
Woodfist tries to lock up and control but Cheliouze gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cheliouze tries to control but Woodfist wriggling away.
Cheliouze looks gassed!

Cheliouze jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Woodfist manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Woodfist is trying to control Cheliouze's posture but Cheliouze avoids it.
Cheliouze is looking to take a break and control but Woodfist is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on Woodfist's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Woodfist tries to clinch

so Cheliouze counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Woodfist is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Woodfist is looking to take a break and control but Cheliouze is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cheliouze tries to roll over but Woodfist keeps him under control.
Cheliouze is trying to control but can't.

Woodfist is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cheliouze is pressing down on Woodfist's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cheliouze bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Woodfist's guard.
Woodfist is trying to keep Cheliouze in close.
Cheliouze looking to sit in guard and control but Woodfist gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chip Cheliouze dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Treehead Woodfist's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Woodfist is looking to clinch.
Cheliouze circles away from the clinch attempt

and Cheliouze counters with a single leg into guard. Woodfist didn't expect that.
Cheliouze stands and throws Woodfist's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cheliouze moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Cheliouze decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Woodfist looks to land a combination but Cheliouze avoids it well.

Woodfist closes the distance and clinches.
Woodfist wants to break free but Cheliouze has control.

Cheliouze drags the fight down to the ground.
Woodfist has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cheliouze throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cheliouze trying to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woodfist stopping the sweep attempt from Cheliouze.
Cheliouze manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Woodfist manages to get himself to full guard.
Woodfist keeping moving, preventing Cheliouze from controlling successfully.
Woodfist can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cheliouze controls the pace.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cheliouze passes Woodfist's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Cheliouze missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Cheliouze stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Cheliouze has closed the distance and engaged Woodfist in a clinch.
Cheliouze crunches a lovely knee into Woodfist's ribcage.

Cheliouze pulls Woodfist into guard.
Cheliouze is trying to keep Woodfist in close.

Cheliouze is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Woodfist has his hands clasped together but Cheliouze extends an breaks Woodfist's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cheliouze.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chip Cheliouze!
