Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Valdivia Chinelinho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hideo Kono!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Chinelinho looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kono darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Valdivia Chinelinho has been cut.

Chinelinho drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chinelinho just content to control the position.

Chinelinho is trying to get an arm triangle but Kono is defending well.
Chinelinho staying calm.
Kono should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Chinelinho advances nicely into full mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chinelinho prevents Kono from getting the reversal.

Chinelinho controlling from mount.
Kono tries to hold on but Chinelinho postures up.
Kono sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Chinelinho prevents Kono from improving his position.
Chinelinho content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Chinelinho trying to control from half guard but Kono is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Chinelinho is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kono slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kono working a defensive guard here.
Chinelinho keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kono's head.
Chinelinho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kono working for a triangle but Chinelinho defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chinelinho lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Chinelinho trying to control the position from guard on top but Kono is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kono is trying to control the position but Chinelinho postures up.
Chinelinho scoring with punches to the head and body.
Kono is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kono wants to pass to mount but Chinelinho is defending the position.
Chinelinho is not content to let Kono control the position.

Kono is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chinelinho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kono.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chinelinho gets full guard.
Kono pushes down on Chinelinho's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Chinelinho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kono is trying to control the action in half guard but Chinelinho is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Valdivia Chinelinho will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Oooooh!!! Kono has knocked Chinelinho down with a huge combo! Kono steps away and waves a wobbly Chinelinho back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Chinelinho is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chinelinho glances at the clock... BAM! Kono nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Chinelinho crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Chinelinho is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hideo Kono!
