Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Ellsberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Davie! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davie clinches up with Ellsberg and pushes him back against the cage. Davie jumps guard but Ellsberg stands there with Davie around his waist. Davie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ellsberg wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Ellsberg gets underhooks to prevent Davie's takedown attempt.
Davie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ellsberg turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Ellsberg looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Davie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ellsberg. A nice inside leg kick there by Ellsberg. That's going to slow Davie down. Ellsberg tries a head kick but it misses.
Davie misses with a few strikes there.
Ellsberg lands a nice hook to Davie's body. Davie takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Davie looks winded! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ellsberg's corner calls for a 1-2. Ellsberg obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellsberg throws a body kick that misses. Ellsberg tries a head kick but it misses.
Ellsberg connects with a nice looking jab.
Davie takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ellsberg misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Davie tries to clinch up but Ellsberg circles away and keeps his distance. Davie fails with a takedown attempt. Daniel Ellsberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Davie. Ellsberg punishes Davie's body with a nice straight punch. Ellsberg lands a big head kick that sends Davie tumbling to the mat! Ellsberg takes a step backwards and waves Davie back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Davie is rocked!
It looks like John Davie has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Look low, kick high! Ellsberg uses the oldest trick in the book to send Davie tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Ellsberg is absolutely delighted - when Davie wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
