Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Haigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Krugerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haigh's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Macabre - Acid Bath Vampire. John Haigh has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Haigh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Freddy Krugerman! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haigh shoots in for a takedown but Krugerman shows good takedown defense. Krugerman looks to score with a jab to the body but Haigh is just out of range. Krugerman ducks under a wild hook from Haigh. Haigh tries to score with a low kick but Krugerman moves his leg out of the way. Haigh misses with a body shot
and Krugerman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Krugerman clobbers Haigh with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Krugerman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Haigh swats him away and circles back towards the center. Krugerman's corner calls for a 1-2. Krugerman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Krugerman fails with an attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Haigh. Krugerman does a little dance to reset his feet. Haigh throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Haigh avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Haigh throws a body punch but Krugerman moves out of range. Krugerman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Haigh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Haigh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Haigh controls from within his opponent's guard. Haigh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Krugerman is keeping the position for now. Krugerman controls Haigh momentarily but Haigh frees himself. Haigh trying to control the position from guard on top but Krugerman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Haigh drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Krugerman dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krugerman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Krugerman throws a strike but Haigh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haigh stopping the sweep attempt from Krugerman. Haigh wants to control from the top but Krugerman keeps moving. Krugerman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haigh slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Haigh tries to move to mount but Krugerman blocks the move with his legs. Haigh tries for a kimura but Krugerman is defending well. Haigh trying to control the action but Krugerman is working from the bottom. Haigh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Krugerman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haigh goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Krugerman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Haigh but great work by Krugerman. Krugerman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Haigh is trying to control Krugerman's posture but Krugerman avoids it. Krugerman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Haigh keeps working. Haigh is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Haigh manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Haigh tries to get to full guard but Krugerman has control of the leg. Haigh works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Haigh dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Krugerman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Haigh looks to score with a jab to the body but Krugerman is just out of range. Haigh ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Krugerman moves away. Haigh misses with the combination.

Haigh misses with an uppercut. Krugerman saw that one coming. Haigh scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Haigh throws a jab when Krugerman was well out of range. Haigh just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Haigh closes the distance and clinches up with Krugerman, looking for a takedown. Haigh pushes Krugerman against the cage but Krugerman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Krugerman feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Haigh's calf. Haigh misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Krugerman.

Haigh shoots in for a takedown but Krugerman shows good takedown defense. Haigh is looking to wear down Krugerman with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Haigh misses with a double jab.
Haigh dives in and grabs Krugerman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Krugerman pushes down on Haigh's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Haigh. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Haigh throws a sloppy body shot

Thai Boxing Academy 13 ELITE COACHES & SAUNA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Krugerman stuffs the takedown attempt from Haigh. Haigh gets slowly back to his feet. Haigh missing with a left hand there. Krugerman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Haigh is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Krugerman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Krugerman has escaped and now he's on top! Krugerman wants to control from the top but Haigh keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krugerman preventing the sweep. Krugerman stands and steps away. Haigh gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Haigh misses with a few strikes there.
John Haigh is winning the standup battle so far. Haigh shoots in looking for a takedown but Krugerman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Haigh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Haigh throws a hook to the side of Krugerman's head but Krugerman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Krugerman scores with a decent looking hook. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Haigh misses the shot to the body. Haigh shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Krugerman is trying to defend but Haigh finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Haigh is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

and Krugerman makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A punch combination from Haigh misses. A jab from Haigh misses. Krugerman avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Krugerman moves out of range of the leg kick from Haigh. Haigh throws a hook to the side of Krugerman's head but Krugerman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Krugerman slips under a jab. Haigh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Krugerman manages to avoid it. Haigh has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Krugerman. Krugerman tries to clinch up. Krugerman fails in his attempt to clinch. Haigh misses with a shot to the body and Krugerman makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. A combination from Haigh does no damage. Krugerman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Krugerman.

Haigh gets slowly back to his feet. A low kick from Haigh is predictable there and Krugerman counters with an inside leg kick. John Haigh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Krugerman ducks under a wild hook from Haigh. Haigh misses with an uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Krugerman slips under a jab from Haigh. Krugerman avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Krugerman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Haigh.
Haigh throws an overhand right that lands on Krugerman's shoulder, as Krugerman tries to avoid the shot. Krugerman drives through and clinches with Haigh against the cage.

Haigh lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Krugerman lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Krugerman thows a left - swing and a miss! Haigh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Krugerman but Krugerman pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Haigh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Krugerman feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Haighs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Good exchange - Krugerman coming out on top. Krugerman scores with a jab to the head.
John Haigh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Krugerman stuffs the takedown attempt from Haigh. Haigh gets slowly back to his feet. Haigh with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Krugerman to score with a decent uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Haigh. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Haigh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
