Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Porfirio Kaufman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kaufman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Thomas misses with a wild combination.
Kaufman motions for Thomas to come forward. Kaufman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Thomas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kaufman shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Kaufman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kaufman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kaufman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thomas pinned against the cage. Thomas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thomas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kaufman is looking to reverse the position.
The ground and pound from Thomas seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Thomas is looking to take a break and control but Kaufman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Thomas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomas throws a strike aimed at the side of Kaufman's head but Kaufman avoids it well.

Thomas has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Thomas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Who's going to make the next move?
Thomas in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thomas trying to control the position but Kaufman is working away.
Kaufman pushes Thomas away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Thomas gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Thomas looks up at the clock and then as Kaufman takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thomas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thomas looking to control but instead Kaufman has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kaufman wants to control but Thomas is keeping busy.

Kaufman is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Thomas stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kaufman to get to his feet.
Oh Kaufman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kaufman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thomas counters with a huge right that knocks Kaufman out cold! Thomas is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Chris Thomas!
Chris Thomas took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I fought hard and I knew I could win. I just had to go out and execute.'.
