Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kael Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ceasar Memphis! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman goes for a double leg but Memphis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Memphis continues to drive forward. Memphis misses with some punches.
Coleman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Memphis throws a punch but it's blocked by Coleman. Coleman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Memphis pulls his leg out and moves away.
Coleman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kael Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coleman looks for a takedown but Memphis sprawls well. Memphis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Memphis throws a right hand that Coleman ducks under and follows up with a left that Coleman also avoids with ease. Coleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Coleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Coleman has a takedown stuffed. No joy there for Coleman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Memphis. No joy for Coleman on that attempt. Ceasar Memphis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Horrible takedown by Coleman or perhaps it was just good defense by Memphis which made him look bad. Coleman is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Memphis. Kael Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Coleman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Memphis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Memphis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Memphis misses with a double jab.
Memphis cracks Coleman with an open hand slap. Memphis stuffs the takedown. Coleman dives in for a single leg takedown but Memphis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nice body punch from Memphis. Good body shot from Memphis.
Coleman is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Memphis lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Coleman or not. Coleman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Memphis lands a right hand. A short uppercut from Memphis. A shot in the inside from Memphis. Memphis lands a shoulder strike. Memphis lands a hook that snaps the head of Coleman backwards. Memphis lands on the inside with an uppercut. Memphis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Coleman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Coleman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Memphis defends well and Coleman ends up having to push Memphis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Memphis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Coleman is rocked! An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Memphis. Oh Coleman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Memphis misses with some punches.
Memphis misses with a short punch on the inside. Memphis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Coleman blocks an uppercut.
Memphis jerks Coleman's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Coleman drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Memphis goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Memphis because Coleman was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Ceasar Memphis! Ceasar Memphis was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
