Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Abbott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kimble Cho! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abbott gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cho closes the distance and clinches. Abbott on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Cho goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Abbott misses with a hook from the clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Cho. Abbott lands a shot to the body. Cho fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Abbott creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Abbott has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Abbott fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Abbott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Abbott throws a series of punches but Cho avoids them all with ease. Abbott avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Cho scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Abbott doesn't seem bothered though. Kimble Cho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Abbott misses with a hook. Cho ducked under it nicely. A good leg kick by Cho. Abbott staying out of range there. Abbott ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's one minute gone in the round. An inside leg kick from Abbott misses. Abbott checks a leg kick. Abbott misses the shot to the body. Cho swings for the body but Abbott moves out of range.
Cho throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cho scores with a nice strike. Horrible takedown by Abbott or perhaps it was just good defense by Cho which made him look bad. Kimble Cho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cho misses with a combination
and Abbott counters with a nice uppercut. Cho feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Abbott's calf. Abbott chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Abbott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cho. That did some damage!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cho misses the shot to the body. Abbott tries to move into range but Cho moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Abbott tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cho defends well and Abbott ends up having to push Cho into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Cho misses with a hook to the ribs.
A short uppercut from Cho. Cho gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Abbott.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brenden Abbott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Abbott has a couple of punches blocked by Cho.

Abbott prevents a body shot from Cho. Abbott misses with a short punch on the inside. Cho misses with a knee to the head. Abbott misses with some punches.
Cho gets through Abbott's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Cho tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Abbott fails to land. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Cho creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Cho blocks an uppercut.
Abbott working some nice short punches in the clinch. Cho tries to work over Abbott's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Cho misses with the head strike.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Abbott tries to throw a body punch but Cho avoids it by throwing Abbott back against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Abbott. Abbott has Cho pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cho manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Abbott swings wildly with an uppercut but Cho uses good head movement to avoid it. Abbott is trying to trip Cho. He has hold of a leg but Cho is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Abbott persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Abbott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Abbott in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cho manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Abbott manages to get himself to full guard.

Cho trying to stand up but can't free himself from Abbott's guard. Abbott tries to land a sweep but no joy. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Abbott is on top in guard.
Cho keeping full guard, as Abbott tries to pass. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Abbott trying to control the position from guard on top but Cho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Abbott postures up and lands a big shot to Cho's brow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brenden Abbott will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Abbott counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Abbott. Cho misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Abbott.
Abbott is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cho. Cho has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Abbott seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Cho can turn it around. Cho goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cho lands a shoulder strike. Abbott changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cho fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A jab from Cho does it's job there. Cho throws a body punch but Abbott moves out of range. Cho lands with a nice body punch. Cho uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Abbott.
Cho throws a quick inside leg kick. Kimble Cho seems to be getting the better of the standup. Abbott pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cho is out of range and Abbott settles back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abbott looks to land a left hand but Cho moved out of range nicely. Abbott misses with an attempted mid kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cho wants to sweep here but Abbott controlling him for the moment. Cho working a defensive guard but Abbott manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cho is looking for a sweep. Abbott staying calm. Check out the look on Abbott's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Abbott is working Cho over with some ground and pound from side control. Cho can't do much from the bottom here. Cho tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Abbott wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Abbott trying to control the position but Cho is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cho tries to improve position but can't. Abbott working the ground and pound but Cho is defending the strikes. Cho looking for a sweep but Abbott has passed into full mount! Oh no! Abbott has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cho's face.
This has been an exciting period of action! Abbott landing shots from mount.
Cho is rocked! Abbott postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Cho badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Abbott around the waist but Abbott pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Abbott is the winner by TKO! Abbott jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
