The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustavsson missing with a left hand there. Maximus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice combo by Gustavsson! Oh, that's hurt him - Maximus falls to the canvas and Gustavsson follows him into side control.
It looks like Arilius Maximus has been cut.
Gustavsson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Gustavsson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gustavsson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Maximus takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Maximus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gustavsson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Gustavsson looks to land a right hand but Maximus moved out of range.

Gustavsson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Gustavsson! Maximus is out on his feet! Gustavsson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Maximus is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Maximus is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Gustavsson!
