The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoppers moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Stoppers looks to score with a jab to the body but Carlton is just out of range.

and Carlton counters by moving into the clinch.
Carlton has a couple of punches blocked by Stoppers.

Stoppers misses with a short punch on the inside.

Carlton lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Stoppers avoids the elbow strike from Carlton, against the cage.

Carlton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stoppers manages to avoid it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Willy Stoppers will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Carlton fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Carlton moves forwards but Stoppers connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A decent looking cross lands there for Carlton.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Carlton. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
