Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clinton Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Malupet Maangas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Roy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Roy.

Maangas clinches.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maangas can do anything to dispel that myth.

Maangas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Roy keeps control of Maangas as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Roy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Maangas gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
A frustrated look appears on Maangas's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Maangas wants to break free but Roy has control.
Roy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Maangas just stands there and leans against the cage.

Roy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maangas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Roy avoids a kick to the body.

and Roy counters with a two punch combo.
Maangas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Maangas throws a head kick that misses.

Maangas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Roy keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Horrible takedown by Roy or perhaps it was just good defense by Maangas which made him look bad.

Maangas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Roy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Roy moves into the clinch.
Roy has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Maangas after a bit of a struggle.
Maangas is defending well against a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Roy turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Clinton Roy showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Roy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
