Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams comes into the arena with Kronik blaring out of the sound system. Frank Mir has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
No luck for Mir with that takedown attempt.
Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Adams fails with a takedown attempt.
Mir tries to clinch there but Adams circles away.
Adams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mir sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Mir seems to be working for a kimura but Adams defends the submission attempt.
Adams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mir is working away from the top position though.

Adams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Mir passes Adams's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Mir tries to stand but can't do so whilst Adams controls his leg.

Adams has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mir is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Mir changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Adams fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mir closes the distance and clinches up with Adams, looking for a takedown. Mir pushes Adams against the cage but Adams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Adams but Adams pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adams's waist but Adams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mir off to one side.

The fighters circling - Mir throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Adams tries for a takedown but Mir sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adams as he avoids it easily.
Adams tries to bum rush Mir with a series of wild strikes but Mir uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Adams connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mir momentarily.
Adams shoots in looking for a takedown but Mir manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Adams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mir gets the takedown into side control.
Adams is trying to get back to his feet.

Adams tries to bench press Mir off him but Mir keeps the position.

Mir decides to stand back up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Adams counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mir is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Adams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mir.
Mir is breathing heavily.
Adams throws a sloppy head kick and Mir moves out of range easily.
Adams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Adams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Adams rushes Mir and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mir jumps guard and drags Adams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mir works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mir keeping moving, preventing Adams from controlling successfully.
Mir is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mir looking to hit a scissor sweep but Adams is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brian Adams.
Adams throws a low kick but Mir avoids it.
Adams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mir swivels and escapes.
Adams fails in his attempt to clinch.
Adams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch but Adams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Adams dives in and grabs Mir's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mir pushes down on Adams's head and hops out.

Adams gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Adams will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Adams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mir, pushing him back against the cage.

Adams has picked Mir up - he's going for a ride! Adams dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mir manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Mir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Adams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mir is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Adams is controlling him.
Adams wants to stand but Mir is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mir manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mir is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Mir wants to control the pace but Adams is squirming around nicely.
Frank Mir has got the better of the ground game so far.
Adams is trying desperately to improve position.
BOOM! Mir connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Adams tries to hold on but Mir postures up.
Mir looking to control but Adams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mir landing punches.


It looks like Brian Adams has been cut.

Mir throws some wild stikes that Adams manages to avoid easily.
Adams is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mir trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mir scoring with strikes but Adams is staying in there.
Mir postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Adams bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Mir and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Mir!
In his post fight interview, Frank Mir started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
