16 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! an takes a swing at Gutz's ribcage but misses. Gutz throws a big shot that misses. an closes the distance and clinches up with Gutz, looking for a takedown. an pushes Gutz against the cage but Gutz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gutz checks a leg kick. Cormac Gutz seems to be getting the better of the standup. A looping hook to the body misses from an. Gutz does a little dance to reset his feet. Gutz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. an sees it coming and avoids it easily. an tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gutz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

They are putting on a show! Gutz pulls an in to control the position. Gutz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gutz got a little sloppy there for a moment and an has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gutz has managed to get both his arms back between an's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cormac Gutz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gutz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. an shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gutz sprawls well. Gutz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. an gets slowly back to his feet. Gutz punishes an's body with a nice straight punch. an avoids the body shot from Gutz.
an takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. an keeps the fight on the outside. an buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
