PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adrian Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mac McNulty!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kowalski.
Kowalski misses with a takedown

and McNulty counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

McNulty wants the takedown. Kowalski is fighting it off but McNulty persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kowalski's guard against the cage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
McNulty working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McNulty passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kowalski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McNulty on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Kowalski's face as McNulty controls the position.
Kowalski is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Kowalski is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
McNulty is nestled in close to Kowalski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McNulty is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Let's hope that McNulty has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

McNulty lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

McNulty has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

McNulty is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kowalski will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kowalski is pushing McNulty's head away, looking to escape. McNulty manages to hold on to the position though.

McNulty lands an elbow.
Kowalski can't do much from the bottom here.
Check out the look on McNulty's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kowalski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A lull in the action here as McNulty stalls from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mac McNulty was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kowalski tries to clinch but McNulty moves out of range.
Kowalski tries to close the distance and clinch up but McNulty swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kowalski shoots in for a double leg but McNulty sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McNulty changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kowalski tries to avoid it but McNulty manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kowalski to the ground. Kowalski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kowalski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrian Kowalski. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McNulty scores with a nice head shot.

McNulty closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kowalski takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McNulty advances to full mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McNulty tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kowalski takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac McNulty dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



McNulty dives in and scores a takedown into Kowalski's guard.

McNulty is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kowalski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McNulty stands and throws Kowalski's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McNulty creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
McNulty lands an elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McNulty cracks Kowalski with an elbow. That is naaassty.

McNulty has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kowalski!
Oh Kowalski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McNulty content just to control the position here.

McNulty postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Kowalski in real trouble here! The ref calls for Kowalski to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mac McNulty!
