Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Al Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taaron Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Al Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Taaron Bailey!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake misses with a double jab.

Bailey scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Drake is looking to reverse the position.
Bailey is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Drake will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The strikes coming from Bailey are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Bailey taking a breather here.
Drake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bailey wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bailey just content to control the position.

Bailey decides to stand back up. Bailey steps back and let's Drake get back to his feet.

Bailey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Drake!
Drake is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bailey prevents Drake from escaping the position.
Drake is trying to control Bailey's posture but Bailey avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bailey stands up.
Drake throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Bailey's coach down at Evil Emp-HEAD HUNTERS FIGHTCLUB 175pw ELITE GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bailey's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bailey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bailey in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Drake tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bailey thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Drake wants to control but Bailey postures up.

Drake looking for a sweep but Bailey has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Drake tries to lock up and control but Bailey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bailey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Drake keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Drake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bailey on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Drake tries to lock up and control but Bailey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Bailey jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Drake manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Drake is trying to control Bailey's posture but Bailey avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bailey trying to control the action but Drake is working from the bottom.
Drake tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Drake is not content to let Bailey control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Drake avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bailey.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taaron Bailey dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Drake lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Drake shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bailey eats them both and turns towards Drake to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Drake shoots in for a takedown but Bailey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Drake keeps the fight on the outside.
Drake rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bailey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Drake lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Bailey looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A jab lands there for Drake.
Bailey on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
We've been told by Drake's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Drake gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Drake trying to advance position but Bailey counters by regaining guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bailey holds on and takes a little breather.
Bailey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Drake is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bailey jumps into side control!

Bailey moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Bailey tries to move into full mount but can't pass Drake's legs.

Bailey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Drake moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bailey is breathing heavily.
No luck for Bailey with that takedown attempt.
Drake lands with a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drake shoots for a takedown but Bailey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Drake lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bailey takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Drake clinches with his opponent.
Bailey is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Drake lands with a light punch inside.

Drake breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bailey takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nice straight punches there by Drake. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Drake.

A head kick misses from Drake.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bailey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bailey takes a kick to the side of the head.
Drake thuds his right hand into Bailey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bailey throws a jab when Drake was well out of range.

Drake drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Drake wants to stand but Bailey is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bailey is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Drake dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Drake fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bailey to the ground. Drake is now in Bailey's guard.
Drake looking to sit in guard and control but Bailey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Drake throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Bailey throws an elbow but Drake slips to the side and avoids it well.
You can see the frustration on Drake's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bailey slows the pace down.
Drake tries to buck Bailey off but Bailey is having none of it.

Bailey stands up.
Bailey falls off balance throwing a combination
and Drake counters with a series of strikes. Bailey will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bailey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drake throws a leg kick which misses Bailey's front leg but catches the back leg as Bailey tries to avoid it.
Bailey dives in for a single leg takedown but Drake sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Drake has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Drake drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bailey gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Drake is pressed up against the cage. Bailey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Drake down to the mat. Drake avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Drake is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bailey's half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Drake is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Bailey looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drake is keen to just control but Bailey is a slippery customer.
Drake wants to stand up but Bailey is controlling the position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Al Drake.
Drake dips to his left and cracks Bailey with an uppercut!

Bailey takes one to the chin there.
Bailey needs to keep his hands up - Drake had a free shot at his head there.
Drake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A left and a right from Drake both land. Nice combination.
Drake throws a head kick that misses.

Bailey tries to keep at a distance but Drake has taken the fight into the clinch.
Drake tries to pull guard but Bailey won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Drake breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bailey takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bailey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Drake counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bailey's knee momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Al Drake showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Drake has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
