Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Unai Arana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis comes to the cage accompanied by Bark at the moon. Arana has chosen NoMeansNo - Beat on the Brat as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorge Dennis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Unai Arana!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arana is looking to chop away at Dennis's legs.
Dennis tries for a takedown but Arana circles away easily
and Dennis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've been informed that Arana has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Dennis misses the shot to the body.
Dennis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dennis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arana sprawls well. Arana wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dennis gets slowly back to his feet.
Dennis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Arana tries a head kick but it misses.
Arana is looking to slow Dennis down with leg kicks.
Arana feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dennis's calf.

Arana takes one on the button.
Arana lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Dennis avoids the body shot from Arana.
Arana scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've been hearing reports that Dennis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Dennis fails with the takedown
and Arana counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Dennis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Arana just misses with a punch to the body.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Dennis. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dennis.

Arana fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dennis.
Dennis closes the distance and clinches up with Arana, looking for a takedown. Dennis pushes Arana against the cage but Arana circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Arana throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dennis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dennis scores with a shot to the body.
Arana pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dennis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Dennis clobbers Arana with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Dennis connects with a jab.
Dennis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Arana defends well and Dennis ends up having to push Arana into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dennis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Arana is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A nice right hand lands inside from Arana.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Arana takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Still in the clinch, Arana scores with a nice short uppercut.
Arana lands with a right to the head.
Arana scores with a hook to the body.

Dennis is looking to take this one to the mat.
Arana throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Denniss head.
Dennis avoids the elbow strike from Arana, against the cage.
Arana digs a right hand underneath Dennis's ribcage. Dennis let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Dennis is breathing heavily.
Arana gets underhooks to prevent Dennis's takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Arana connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dennis's face.


It looks like Jorge Dennis has been cut.
Arana lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Arana lands an uppercut.


Dennis is rocked!
Dennis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Arana avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Arana scores a nice knee to the body.
Arana lands a body punch in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Arana lands a nice uppercut.
Oh Dennis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Arana is working Dennis over against the cage.
Arana lands a knee to the body.
Arana lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Arana breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arana lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Dennis walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Arana! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Unai Arana!
In his post fight interview, Unai Arana started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Jorge Dennis stepped up to the mic, saying 'Bom, o que eu tenho a dizer é que Ice Man está de parabéns, tive alguns problemas nos meus treinamentos, mas não é desculpa ele é realmente bom e merece o cinturão.'.
