PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tucker Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tucker Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Langley!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Langley darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.
Johnson looking to stall.
Johnson scores with a nice hook to the head.
Langley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Langley pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Langley lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Johnson or not.

Langley manages to break the clinch.

Langley forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches.

Langley is trying to trip Johnson. He has hold of a leg but Johnson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Langley persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Langley stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him.
Johnson clinches but Langley breaks the clinch
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Langley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Johnson looking for a sweep but Langley has passed into full mount! Oh no!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Langley with a couple of short strikes.
Langley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Johnson manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Langley passes to side control.
Langley in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Langley decides to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Langley clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the cage.

Johnson breaks the clinch.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Langley.
Johnson darts in trying to clinch

and Langley counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Langley postures up.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Langley passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Langley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Langley prevents Johnson from improving his position.
Langley prevents Johnson from standing back up.
Langley landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Langley is very close to passing his half guard.
Johnson has a hand on Langley's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Langley takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Langley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Johnson's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Langley scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Johnson?
Langley landing punches.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
Langley controlling the position easily from mount.
Johnson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
Johnson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson works his way to full guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Langley dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Johnson wants to control but Langley is keeping busy.
Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Johnson wants to stand back up but Langley manages to pass into side control.
Langley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Langley decides to stand back up.
Langley is breathing heavily.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson blocks the body kick.
Jake Langley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Johnson clinches up against the cage.
Johnson landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Langley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Langley wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson tries to clinch but Langley moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Johnson.
Langley connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Langley circles away.
Langley scores with a hook.
Langley throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A big right from Langley misses.
Langley wants to clinch.
Langley is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Langley closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Langley pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson wants to clinch
and Langley counters with a good low kick that Johnson was not able to check.
Langley shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.
Nice sprawl there from Langley as Johnson shoots in.
Langley throws a low kick but Johnson avoids it.
Johnson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Langley! Johnson is backing up but he can't get away as Langley lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Johnson and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jake Langley!
