Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Borys Grabowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Redmond! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redmond throws a series of punches but Grabowski avoids them all with ease. Redmond closes the distance and pushes Grabowski back into the cage. Grabowski wants to break free but Redmond has control.

Redmond looks to land a left hand but Grabowski moved out of range nicely. Grabowski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Redmond.
Redmond ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grabowski moves away. Grabowski throws out a powerful jab. Redmond throws a sloppy head kick and Grabowski moves out of range easily. Grabowski swats away the attempt to clinch by Redmond. Nice sprawl there from Grabowski as Redmond shoots in. Grabowski throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redmond looks to score with a jab to the body but Grabowski is just out of range. Redmond rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Grabowski counters with a thumping low kick. Grabowski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. The fight stays on the outside here - Redmond looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Redmond misses the shot to the body. Redmond gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. I was talking to Grabowski's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Grabowski is trying to push Redmond away but Redmond has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Grabowski is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A left hand lands to the body for Redmond.
Grabowski has had enough of the clinch but Redmond keeps him there for the moment. Redmond misses with an elbow strike.
Redmond has Grabowski pressed against the cage, preventing Grabowski from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Redmond told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Redmond tries to pull guard but Grabowski won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Redmond is looking to control Grabowski's arms but Grabowski gets an underhook and turns him. Now Redmond has his back to the cage. Redmond working Grabowski over with knees to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Grabowski takes a knee to the side of the body. Grabowski blocks an elbow strike from Redmond.
A frustrated look appears on Grabowski's face as he tries to break the clinch. Grabowski wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Redmond has him pressed against the cage. Redmond throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Grabowski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nathan Redmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redmond closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Redmond keeps control of Grabowski as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Grabowski is trying to break the clinch but Redmond has him pressed against the cage. Redmond looking for a takedown. Borys Grabowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Redmond.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redmond lands an elbow inside. Redmond lands a damaging elbow. With the fighters up against the cage, Redmond throws an elbow but misses. Redmond wants the takedown. Grabowski is fighting it off but Redmond persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Grabowski's guard against the cage. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Grabowski working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Redmond. Grabowski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Redmond tries to free his leg and advance position but Grabowski is retaining full guard. Grabowski keeping moving, preventing Redmond from controlling successfully. Redmond trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Redmond loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redmond drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Grabowski dives on top into guard. Redmond has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Redmond looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Grabowski controlling from the top position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Grabowski stopping the sweep attempt from Redmond. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Redmond being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nathan Redmond dominated that round. That's time! Grabowski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Redmond lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Redmond lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Redmond darts in looking for a takedown but Grabowski gets double underhooks and turns Redmond into the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Grabowski prevents the takedown attempt.

Redmond pushes off an throws an elbow but Grabowski leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Redmond is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Grabowski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Grabowski slips under a jab. Redmond shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grabowski pinned against the cage. Grabowski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Grabowski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Redmond takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Grabowski throws a right and a left that both miss. A jab from Redmond misses. Grabowski throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Grabowski looks to land a combination but Redmond avoids it well. Redmond thows a leg kick but Grabowski checks it and Grabowski counters with a nice uppercut. Redmond is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grabowski sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Redmond wants to clinch up but Grabowski keeps it at a distance. Grabowski throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Grabowski takes a swing at Redmond's ribcage but misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Redmond wants to clinch up but Grabowski keeps it at a distance. A head kick misses from Grabowski. Borys Grabowski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Grabowski misses the shot to the body. Redmond changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grabowski tries to avoid it but Redmond manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grabowski to the ground. Grabowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Redmond tries to bum rush Grabowski with a series of wild strikes but Grabowski uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Grabowski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Redmond fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Redmond shoots for a takedown but Grabowski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Redmond is breathing heavily. Redmond throws a big shot that misses. Redmond throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Grabowski sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Redmond. Grabowski does a little dance to reset his feet. Grabowski lands with a cross. Redmond blocks a head kick by Grabowski.

and Grabowski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Redmond throws a series of punches but Grabowski avoids them all with ease. Grabowski is pawing at Redmond, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Redmond's nose. Redmond is badly hurt! Grabowski pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Redmond tries desperately to hold on but Grabowski is relentless in his assault! As Redmond receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Grabowski away and this one is in the books!
