Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Wiggin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Ernst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ernst comes into a darkened arena with his song building. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjVvhDwFnJk kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Andrew Wiggin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andrew Wiggin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Wiggin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tim Ernst!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiggin with a poor takedown

and Ernst counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Wiggin!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wiggin tries to buck Ernst off but Ernst is having none of it.
A lull in the action here as Ernst stalls from top position.
Ernst looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wiggin can't do much from the bottom here.
Wiggin is looking for a sweep.
Ernst tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Wiggin trying to remain calm as Ernst controls from the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wiggin tries to bench press Ernst off him but Ernst keeps the position.
Ernst remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We've been hearing good reports from Wiggin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tim Ernst.
Wiggin tries for a takedown but Ernst circles away easily
and Ernst counters with a straight right hand.
Wiggin shoots and misses
and Ernst counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Wiggin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wiggin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ernst counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ernst sizes up Wiggin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


Wiggin is rocked!
Ernst throws an overhand right that has Wiggin reeling! Ernst follows up with more punches and Wiggin is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tim Ernst!
After winning the bout, Tim Ernst thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
