Goochman comes into the arena with Public Enemy - He Got Game blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coach Goochman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goochman tries a head kick but it misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Goochman throws a leg kick but Johnson moved away.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Goochman as he avoids it easily.
Goochman attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Johnson moves out of range of the body kick.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
Coach Goochman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Johnson.
Johnson avoids the head kick by Goochman.
Goochman wants to land a leg kick but Johnson is out of range.
Goochman tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson blocks a leg kick.

Goochman gets the takedown into side control.

Goochman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Goochman tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Goochman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well.
Goochman fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Johnson is looking to reverse the position.
Johnson sneaks back into half guard.

Goochman is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goochman to get the leverage.
Goochman is breathing heavily.
Goochman trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Goochman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Goochman showed some decent athleticism there.
Goochman trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson keeping hold of Goochman's head, controlling as best he can.

Goochman is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Johnson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Johnson.
Goochman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

Johnson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Goochman rolls with it to try and escape but Johnson cranks on the arm and Goochman is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
