Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leland Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kano Ueshiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kano Ueshiba is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Leland Kirby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kano Ueshiba!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirby closes the distance and clinches.
Ueshiba changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kirby fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ueshiba fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kirby avoids it really well and circles away.

Kirby moves into the clinch.
Kirby really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kirby gets a trip takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ueshiba gets full guard.
Kirby tries to stand but Ueshiba is controlling from the bottom.

Ueshiba trying to control the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kano Ueshiba wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ueshiba fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Leland Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kano Ueshiba.

Kirby has closed the distance and engaged Ueshiba in a clinch.
Ueshiba is looking to take this one to the mat.

Ueshiba is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kirby gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kirby's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kirby fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ueshiba, pushing him back against the cage.
Ueshiba is working for takedown but Kirby is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kirby pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kirby feints and as Ueshiba raises his hands in defense, Kirby changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kirby is looking to stand up but Ueshiba won't let him.
Ueshiba wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kirby throws a big right hand that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ueshiba shoots for a double leg takedown but Kirby sprawls well. He's pushed Ueshiba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ueshiba dives in for a single leg takedown but Kirby sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kirby manages to break the clinch.
Ueshiba jabs Kirby to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ueshiba gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kirby connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kirby clinches up against the cage.

Kirby breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kirby has closed the distance and engaged Ueshiba in a clinch.
Kirby gets underhooks to prevent Ueshiba's takedown attempt.

Kirby has hold of one of Ueshiba's legs. Ueshiba is fighting the takedown attempt but Kirby gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kirby accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ueshiba working a defensive guard here.
Kirby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ueshiba has a closed guard, preventing Kirby from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leland Kirby dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ueshiba fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ueshiba drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ueshiba wants to control from the top but Kirby keeps moving.
Kirby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kirby escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ueshiba gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ueshiba would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ueshiba decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kirby, up you get!
Ueshiba throws a right hand that misses

and Kirby counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ueshiba!
Ueshiba is trying to improve his position.

Kirby decides to stand back up.

Kirby has closed the distance and engaged Ueshiba in a clinch.

Kirby breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ueshiba crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kirby - the referee stops the clock and Ueshiba gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kirby. Ueshiba manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ueshiba shoots for a double leg takedown but Kirby sprawls well. He's pushed Ueshiba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kirby keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ueshiba gets tackled into the cage by Kirby. Kirby maintains the clinch.

Kirby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ueshiba tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kirby defends well and Ueshiba ends up having to push Kirby into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Leland Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kano Ueshiba.

Leland Kirby is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Some wild striking there from Ueshiba.

Ueshiba is breathing heavily.

Ueshiba fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ueshiba tries to pull guard but Kirby won't allow it.

Kirby scores with a shoulder strike.

Kirby manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Ueshiba is sitting in close to Kirby's body. Kirby has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ueshiba is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ueshiba is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kirby.
