Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sarkis Terteryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Munch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terteryan comes into the arena with Röyksopp - The Fear blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terteryan swings for the body but Munch moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Munch has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Munch gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Terteryan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Terteryan wants to control from the top but Munch keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munch has Terteryan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Terteryan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Terteryan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Terteryan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Munch bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Terteryan drops his shoulder and cracks Munch with a huge uppercut! Munch goes down! Can Terteryan finish him?


Munch is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Terteryan gets to his feet and stands over Munch, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Munch felt that one! Terteryan unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Munch from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sarkis Terteryan!
